Photo Dump Posting!

I've gone almost the entire month of April without posting, because it's been a crazy few weeks. Let's take a look...in no particular order... Animals Coby has had no new run-ins with strange dogs, no visible injuries. He has  managed to train the dogs quite well to bend to his will. This cat is next to impossible to photograph. With a flash, he glows. Without it, he disappears.  The old man... This is his usual position. It gives him the best ability to snore and pass gas at the same time. The demonic one...holding onto his tennis ball so the others can't get it. Did you know that "red-eye reduction" doesn't work in a case like this? And finally, trouble... Spoiled rotten. But look at that smile.  House We got a new one of these! Aren't we lucky? Okay, we're lucky that we could afford it and that RDub is handy enough to put it in without paying someone else, but seriously! We just had the outside of the house painted...

B f L Day 12: This is my life.

This. Three rather large dogs, one rope, husband egging them on.  Oh, and notice the fire in the fireplace. In. MARCH. In. TEXAS.  Life right now is approaching ridiculous.

B f L Day 2: Fostering

This week started a new experience for the family. This is Jake. He's a five-year-old Husky that has belonged to our neighbors. They got transferred and will be in an apartment for too long to keep him. They asked if we wanted him, and we said we'd try to find him a home. He's all over Facebook now, but so far no takers. We brought him home Tuesday afternoon to ensure he wouldn't end up at the pound. But that's not the point.  I'm watching this dog go to the front door and just sit there. "It's been fun, but I'm ready to go home now." It is heartbreaking. He is learning to get along with our dogs, and the cat is trying to tolerate him, but he's obviously confused. He paces, nudges me, and won't eat. It's just so very sad.  I'm sure he'll adjust, but I just don't know how much we're helping. He gets used to us and hopefully before long we find him a home. Then he has to go through it all again -- how is that ...

I have obviously lost my mind.

The day started out so normal. Bug had a thing to do and was gone by 7am, I laid around until 8, then I had coffee with my homemade Paleo creamer! This was the first cup of coffee I'd had in three weeks, and it was lovely. Sat on the back porch in mid-60s weather, reading the paper, drinking my coffee, planning the rest of the day. I hate grocery shopping on the weekend, but it happens that way more than not. I didn't start on my menu planning until Friday, so there was no choice that today would involve a trip to some store. Hey, while I'm out, I'll run by Hobby Lobby and pick up a few autumn accessories. Great idea. Until we got to the shopping center and saw white tents set up. Guess what was in them? Pets from various shelters available for adoption. Don't get ahead of me. As we drove up, I'm saying out loud, "We do NOT need another dog. We do NOT. Do NOT ask me for another dog." By the way, this is only being said to my husband, not a chi...
